I am an intern in the Sabo lab for one year as part of my undergraduate biology degree at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. I have studied many aspects of biology throughout my university career from biochemistry to plant physiology. However since carrying out field work within which I studied how non-native signal crayfish affect the water quality and native freshwater species of UK rivers, I have realised that ecology is my calling.
I will be helping with various aspects of the food chain length project including logistics and fieldwork as well as assisting graduate students with their lab work throughout the year.
I am very excited about being able to study arid streams for the first time and seeing how they differ from those in the UK.
